About this Organization
Rawalpindi Medical College was established in Faisalabad on 18th March 1974 and later changed to Rawalpindi on 5th November 1974 in an incomplete construction at Tipu Road (Science block of Gordon College Rawalpindi), which was later handed over to Rawalpindi Medical College.
The creator principal of RMC, Prof. Abdul Latif, worked hard to set up the institution. (Picture on the ideal side of this webpage ) The student hostels, personnel colony and auditorium were assembled. Aside from his own specialization of anatomy he finished all the faculty. He also managed to acquire the Holy family hospital from missionary church along with fundamental Government Hospital in central Government that later became Rawalpindi General Hospital and now Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
The District headquarter Hospital was also connected to the college as 1st teaching hospital. The Department of Medical Education & the institute of the Allied health sciences that was established in 2007 was the vision of Prof. Musadiq Khan, he also started the new teaching block holy family hospital Rawalpindi in addition to ICU and CCU.
